Tyrell Salmon

Tyrell Salmon is a twenty year old filmmaker from London, driven by a purpose: to put people like him on the screen. Growing up in a less fortunate background, he knows firsthand how rarely young Black people see themselves reflected in the stories cinema tells and he's made it his life's work to change that.

An aspiring director, screenwriter, and actor, Tyrell wants to build a world where audiences can look at a character and recognise their own face, their own struggle, their own hope. Through every film he writes, directs, or performs in, he aims to create space for stories that have too often gone untold. His passion has carried him through the many hurdles of his life not in spite of them, but because of them. Each obstacle sharpened his vision, deepened his commitment and broaden his creative mind.

For Tyrell, filmmaking isn't just a career; it's a way of giving back to the community that shaped him, build spaces, characters, and universes for each and every person to find themselves in and lighting a path for the next generation coming up behind him.
